WTM to hold China conference – 11 June 2007

World Travel Market (WTM) is to host a one-day conference in London to help UK businesses tap into the lucrative Chinese market.

China – the Future of Travel in 2007 will be held at ExCeL London during World Travel Market on Wednesday, November 14.

WTM managing director Fiona Jeffery said although China was a new and exciting market the response from the travel industry had thus far been “disappointing”, leaving the market largely untapped.

The conference programme will feature a series of forums and interactive workshops on areas such as effective communications and navigating legal and financial obstacles. It will also include an assessment on recent changes and trends in China’s tourism industry and a free, one-hour online workshop on the Chinese travel industry.

Confirmed speakers include Professor Wolfgang Arlt, an expert on China’s outbound tourism market; ChinaContact managing director Roy Graff; and Dr. Kevin Lin, interpreter to Tony Blair and an expert on Chinese culture and communication.

Details on registering for the event, which is supported by the World Travel & Tourism Council, VisitBritain, the China-Britain Business Council and UKinbound, can be found here.
