TV travel channel Sky Travel Shop has partnered with a number of UK holiday providers in a bid to grow its domestic holiday sales.
Sky Travel, which sells holidays via the TV, web and phone, has teamed up with Hoseasons, Warner Breaks, Butlins, Haven Holiday Parks and thetrainline.com.
The holiday breaks and train tickets are available via a newly launched microsite and will be heavily promoted on Sky’s TV shopping channel.
The move follows a recent survey of 1,500 consumers by Sky Travel which found that one in five Brits have never been abroad and prefer to holiday in the UK.
Head of Sky Travel Barbara Gibbon said: “We are pleased to welcome our new UK holiday partners to the Sky Travel Shop portfolio. Our recent study looking at UK travel trends confirms that there is customer demand which we aim to satisfy.”
The study also showed that Cornwall was the most popular UK destination, with 26 per cent of the vote, followed by Scotland (15 per cent), Devon (12 per cent), the Lake District (9 per cent) and Wales (eight per cent).
