Nominations are being invited for the fourth Responsible Tourism Awards, which is this year sponsored by Virgin Holidays.
Companies must be nominated by July 2, 2007 to have the chance of winning one of the 13 awards, which this year have a particular focus on CO2 reduction initiatives.
The winners will then be decided by a panel of 13 judges, which includes Abta’s head of consumer affairs Keith Richards and Federation of Tour Operators director general Andrew Cooper.
The panel is chaired by the Professor of Responsible Tourism at Leeds Metropolitan University, Harold Goodwin.
Categories include Best Tour Operator, sponsored by the Adventure Company; Best for Low Carbon Transport / Technology, sponsored by Virgin Trains; and Best Personal Contribution, sponsored by the Canadian Tourism Commission.
The awards are run by online travel agent responsibletravel.com and nominations can be made online.
