Cunard Line has announced a series of special Farewell Voyages for the QE2 before it leaves the fleet in November 2008.
The company has replaced two voyages scheduled for 2008 – the Canary Islands Splendour voyage and a Mediterranean voyage – with a British Isles voyage and two Transatlantic Crossings. It has also added a final voyage to Dubai, where the ship is set to start a new life as a hotel and entertainment complex at The Palm Jumeirah.
QE2’s 10-night Farewell to the British Isles voyage departs Southampton on September 30 and includes maiden calls to Dublin and Belfast, as well as the Clyde where she was built. Fares start from £1,269 for an M7 grade stateroom.
On October 10 it will leave Southampton on a six-night, tandem crossing to New York with Queen Mary 2 before turning around to complete the return journey. Fares for both voyages start from £879 for an M7 grade stateroom.
For its final voyage the 40-year-old ship will leave Southampton for Dubai on November 11, arriving on November 27. Ports of call include Lisbon, Gibraltar, Naples and Alexandria and fares start from £2,729 for an M7 grade stateroom.
Guests booked on the sailings affected by the changes will be offered a refund or the opportunity to rebook on one of the new voyages, along with $300 (£150) of onboard credit.
Booking for the new voyages opens on June 27 at 14:00 hours BST.
