Somak Holidays has launched a tour hosted by a former diplomat which aims to give customers the chance to see the less visited side of Kenya.
The Kenya Kaleidoscope Tour is a 20-night itinerary featuring 14 nights in the African bush, three nights relaxing on the coast and a further three nights in Nairobi visiting local community projects.
The tour is led by former British High Commissioner to Kenya Sir Jeffrey James, who has negotiated access to local communities.
Somak chief executive Ash Sofat said: “Sir Jeffrey was based in Kenya for five years and during that time we built up quite a good relationship with him.
“Now he has designed the itinerary which he is also leading and through him we are getting to see places and projects which most tour operators can’t get access to.”
The full-board tour will be run three times, in October, January and April, and prices lead in at £3,950, including return flights from Heathrow and donations made to the charities and schemes visited on behalf of the group.
