UK visitor numbers to Singapore have increased by 5% during the first six months of this year to reach a record 260,000 visitors, compared with the same period last year.
Singapore Tourism Board area director northern and western Europe Divya Panickar, said:
“The sustained year-on-year growth of UK visitor numbers to Singapore shows that it is still a destination high on UK travellers’ must-visit list. Singapore is also attracting repeat visitors who feel they have a lot more to discover and experience.”
UK visitors to Singapore in 2006 reached 488,000, an increase of 4% over 2005.
Panickar said cultural festivals, exotic flora and fauna, garden spas as well as Singapore’s vibrant and exciting restaurant and nightlife appealed to UK visitors.
Singapore welcomed 4.9 million worldwide visitors in the first six months of 2007, registering an overall 5.2% growth over the same period a year ago.
