Longwood Holidays has introduced accommodation-only product for the first time.

Most of Longwood’s 200 four and five-star properties in Jordan, Egypt and Israel can now be booked through the agents section of its website.

Longwood consultant Rafi Caplin said the new option has already accounted for between 5% and 10% of the operator’s sales.

He added: “The reality is the traditional tour operator model is being attacked. The whole travel industry is doing this now and if you can’t beat them, then you must join them.”

He claimed the operator acts as a principal in all accommodation-only bookings and customers will still benefit from the operator’s overseas repping service.

Sample prices include £30 per person per night at the Hilton Sharks Bay in Hurghada and £22 per person per night in the Marriott Beach Sharm el-Sheikh.
