Britain ‘is not family friendly’ – 08 Aug 2007

Families in Britain feel they are being ripped off when taking a holiday in the UK, according to a survey.

Three quarters (76%) of the 2,000 parents questioned in the Family Friendly Britain Campaign Survey said that most hotels in Britain don’t cater for families with young children and that seaside breaks are a ‘rip off’.

Staying in a hotel abroad for a week was also seen as a cheaper option than a week’s holiday in this country according to 70% of those surveyed.

Of those that did holiday closer to home, only 42% of parents with a young child said they received a warm welcome at their hotel.

The Family Friendly Britain Campaign Survey was commissioned by Mother & Baby magazine and Mothercare.
