Tour operator Discover The World has sacked the captain of a ship on which 17 British tourists were injured during an Arctic cruise.
The injuries occurred when fragments of a glacier fell into the sea near the vessel. It has been suggested the ship was too close to the glacier at the time.
Discover the World sold the cruise aboard the Russian-crewed Alexey Maryshev, run by Dutch operator Oceanwide Expeditions.
The company said it would not permit the captain on any future trip involving its clients.
An investigation into the cause of the accident has yet to report its findings.
