Monday August 20

  • Protests have spread to the London headquarters of BP and the Sizewell B nuclear power station as the main camp disbands )Telegraph, Guardian, Mirror, BBC)


  • BAA offices are still blockaded this morning, with up to 200 activists camping in the car park (BBC)

  • Protesters marched on BAA’s headquarters, leading to scuffles with police (Telegraph, Guardian, Independent)

  • Operations at Heathrow remained unaffected by the protest (Financial Times, Times, RTE News)

 

Friday August 17

  • Protestors have superglued themselves to the doors of the Department of Transport in central London (This is London, RTE News, Metro)

  • There is evidence that the camp is actually fuelling demand for private jet travel (Telegraph)

  • Heathrow managing director Mark Bullock ‘admits he is in the dark about activists’ intentions’ (Guardian)

 

Thursday August 16

  • Police sources claim that the camp has been infiltrated by known troublemakers (BBC)

  • There have been arrests at Biggin Hill after small groups of protesters attempted to ‘shut down’ two private airports (Times, BBC, Guardian)

  • Protesters are planning ‘a series of 24-hour blockades’ beginning on Sunday (Telegraph, Scotsman)

  • The BBC reports that one woman has been arrested after supergluing herself to a gate. It also has a map of the propsed expansion and protest site.
