Air New Zealand is to increase the number of Pacific Premium Economy seats on all eight of its Boeing 747 aircraft due to strong demand for the revamped product.
All aircraft will be reconfigured, replacing 15 economy seats with eight premium economy places, with the number of seats in this class to increase to 39 by the end of October.
Regional manager for Europe Scott Carr said the airline is delighted with the extra take-up.
“Pacific Premium Economy has been a hit since we launched it in 2005. Demand has grown steadily with customers wanting more space and legroom on longer routes, but without paying business-class fares.”
Passengers travelling in premium economy can now get pre take-off drinks, printed menus, meals from known chefs, snacks, hot towels, amenity kits, slippers and noise-cancelling headsets for their flight.
