Discover Egypt grows luxury travel offering – 28 Aug 2007

Tour operator Discover Egypt is focusing on upmarket cruises and bespoke tours in its 2008/09 Egypt brochure in order to grow its luxury offering.

Discover Egypt is adding a Red Sea cruise itinerary to its range on a 22-cabin luxury ship.

Director Philip Breckner said: “There is definitely a demand for more upmarket products in this area. People are willing to pay £500 more to go on a luxury, boutique style cruise.

“Agents will be aware of the large ships that operate in this area, but many travellers are now looking for smaller ships where they can get a personal service, have individual dining seating and go on tours in groups of three or four.”

The operator is also meeting demand for tailor-made options in addition to cruises by offering multi-centre itineraries. A 14 night holiday with a seven night Nile cruise and seven nights in El Gouna on the Red Sea Riviera starts from £689 per person including flights and accommodation.
