Management changes at Royal Caribbean – 04 Sep 2007

Royal Caribbean Cruises has announced a restructure in its senior management team which sees sales and marketing director Jo Rzymowska promoted to managing director for UK and Ireland.

The operator’s UK managing director Robin Shaw will become vice-president and managing director for Europe.

Commercial director EMEA Sarah Newman also adds the title of regional vice-president and commercial director for EMEA.

According to Royal Caribbean, Rzymowska has played a significant role in the rapid growth of the cruiseline’s UK and Ireland business, including restructuring its sales and marketing teams and delivering the “Easy To Do Business With” initiative for trade partners.

Since joining the cruise operator in 2005, Shaw has helped increase market share in the UK and Ireland from 9% in 2004 to 16% in 2007. In his new role, he will be responsible for country operations in Europe and will oversee the growth of these markets.

Newman will manage the central functions of marketing, PR, sales, distribution and operations for EMEA.

Royal Caribbean senior vice-president and managing director for EMEA Susan Hooper said: “These changes are the result of the dynamic and positive performance of the region to date. The company’s business has more than doubled in size in the UK and Ireland in the last three years.”
