We asked three operators, Libra Holidays, Argo Holidays and Thomson, to come up with a recommendation and sample price for three clients who have special requests for a holiday in Cyprus.
Request 1. Client A is a group of six 20-year-old fun-loving women – looking for sun, sea and plenty of partying on limited funds.
Thomson
Area: Ayia Napa, southwest Cyprus.
Product: stay at the Diomylos apartments (with pool) in the resort which many have now dubbed ‘the new Ibiza’. Plenty of brilliant beaches, bars and summer sun – hot both by day and by night. After a hard night partying the group can relax on a free lilo and listen to a free compilation CD offered to clients booking through the Thomson Club Freestyle brochure.
Price: £305 per person based on three adults sharing a self-catering studio for 14 nights, departing summer 2000.
Libra Holidays
Area: Ayia Napa.
Product: stay at the Skaros self-catering apartments, with access to two pools and the best clubbing resort on the island. In summer, British DJs play in the top clubs and the group can join a beach, boat and bar-crawl party – a boat excursion packed with fun.
Price: £379 per person based on three adults sharing a self-catering studio for a week in July 2000. The bar-crawl party with unlimited drinks costs around £30.
Argo Holidays
Area: Ayia Napa.
Product: stay at the Anthea apartments and enjoy the fun and excitement of a busy, lively resort. These are good quality apartments, with pool, situated in the centre of the resort and a few minutes from the harbour and Limanaki beach.
Price: £258 per person based on four people sharing a self-catering, one-bedroom apartment for two weeks, travelling on a scheduled Cyprus Airways flight in April 2000.
Request 2: Client B is a middle-aged couple who have visited Cyprus several times before and are now looking to return and explore off the beaten track in less well known areas or resorts with lots of local flavour.
Thomson
Area: Latchi, northeast Cyprus.
Product: stay at the Souli Hotel from the Thomson Small and Friendly range. This is a family-run hotel, right on the beach in an attractive and peaceful part of Cyprus. Latchi offers the simple pleasures of sunshine, traditional food and good beaches. New local interest reps can advise on car rental, cycle trails, walks, golf and wine tasting for those who want to explore.
Price: £419 per person based on twin share, bed and breakfast for two weeks. Car hire available for £83 for three days fully inclusive.
Libra Holidays
Area: Drouseia Village.

Product: this village can be found just three miles from Latchi out in the mountains and set on the edge of the Akamas National Park. It is a good base from which to explore the wildlife and natural assets of the western side of Cyprus. Stay at the Tavros Hotel Apartments with pool and fantastic views over the park. Mountain bikes available for hire.
Price: £334 per person based on two sharing a one-bedroom self-catering studio for a week departing April 2000.
Request 3: Client C is a family travelling in the school holidays looking for self-catering accommodation with easy access to a good beach and shops but also close to a wide range of family friendly restaurants for dining out.
Thomson
Area: Limassol, southern Cyprus.
Product: this is the largest resort in the south of the island and has everything for a family holiday – great beaches, shops, restaurants and bars. Stay at the Atlantica Hotel and Apartments with pools, daily activity programmes and kids’ clubs for children aged 3-12. Set just 200m from the beach.
Price: £1,318 for a family of four for a week based on a one-bedroom self-catering apartment in August 2000.
Libra Holidays
Area: Protaras.
Product: stay at the Windmills Hotel Apartments in the Pernera region of the resort which has great beaches, a good selection of bars, restaurants and tavernas and good bus connections into the centre of Protaras for further facilities. The accommodation is just 300m from the beach and also has its own pool and playground.
Price: £1,020, for a family of four sharing a one-bedroom self-catering apartment, departing May 2000.
Argo Holidays
Area: Protaras.
Product: Protaras is an area of excellent, safe family beaches and plenty of family entertainment. Stay at the relaxed, family-friendly Evalena Beach Hotel Apartments with pool and playground. The apartments are set right on a beach offering water sports and 5mins from local shops and restaurants.
