Phuket Airport reopens after aircraft crash

Phuket International Airport has reopened following the aircraft crash yesterday that killed 88 people.

The airport has been closed for around 24 hours during which time domestic flights to and from the airport were rerouted to Krabi International Airport.

Some international flights due to arrive before the airport reopened were cancelled, while others were delayed with arrival times yet to be confirmed.

The crash took place as a One-Two-Go aircraft came in to land in heavy rain yesterday. The low-cost aircraft, which had 130 people on board, swerved off the runway, split in two and burst into flames on landing.
