Flight Centre is adding a tailor-made cruise programme to its portfolio as well as transforming 10 of its high street shops into specialist cruise stores before Christmas.
Commercial and marketing director at Flight Centre Brett Warbrick said: “We have seen a natural growth in the cruises we sell and felt this was worth exploring. We will be introducing the product to our regular customers who might be first time cruisers.”
The company is working with all major cruise operators and the emphasis will be on flexible and bespoke cruises that can fit in with any other type of holiday.
Warbrick added: “Nowadays people want cruises that are tailored to their own needs. The cruise might be the sole purpose of the trip or just a small part of it. It can be incorporated into anything from birdwatching to golfing trips.”
Cruise call centre teams will be based in the back of shops and a dedicated website has already been launched.
