Singapore celebrates £600m tourism investment

Singapore will be celebrating at World Travel Market after the city state government decided to allocate £600 million to major tourism projects.


They include developments on Sentosa such as Marina Bay Sands, opening in 2009, a meetings and leisure complex with an ArtScience museum, floating dining pavilion, ice-skating rink and indoor canals.


Resorts World Sentosa, opening in 2010, will have accommodation, meetings rooms, retail and entertainment space and Universal Studios’ largest theme park in Asia.


There will also be month-long food festival in Singapore in July. Last year saw a record 9.7 million visitors to the country and 10.2 million are expected by the end of this year.
