Gold Medal revamps reward scheme

Gold Medal Travel is hoping to increase agency sales after revamping its Farebank reward scheme.

The upgraded reward scheme is now run by incentives company Lealta Benefits and, rather than winning points for each booking they make, agents will earn more points

according to the value of their bookings.

These points will be collected on agents’ own Gold Medal Farebank cards and can then be redeemed on the operator’s Farebank-dedicated website, where they can be

used to buy everything from CDs and iPods to holidays.

The cards will also give agents discounts in high-street stores including Topshop and Boots.

Gold Medal Travel director of sales and marketing Ruth Connor said: “We are demonstrating that agents are an integral part of our business and we are committed to our

trade relations.”

The changes to the scheme are part of a company-wide rebranding exercise that aims to reinforce the group’s position as a long-haul tour operator, as revealed by Travel

Weekly last month.
