Tourism Australia is this week launching an interactive DVD training programme for Aussie Specialist agents who want to increase their knowledge of the destination.
The new DVD training comes in three discs. The first contains information about Australia’s geography, size and climate, as well as its states and territories.
Disc two goes into detail about suggested itineraries for clients, with video clips to bring holiday ideas to life.
The third disc provides information about Australia’s seven key experiences – the coastal lifestyles, the cities, Aboriginal history, self-drive itineraries, the outback, nature, food and wine.
Tourism Australia is also launching an online Aussie Specialist marketing pack comprising fact sheets detailing the seven key experiences, images that agents can put into itineraries, driving itineraries and maps.
General manager UK and Europe Rodney Harrex said: “We know from surveys that agents play a key role in helping people plan a holiday to Australia so we are putting a lot of time and effort into making sure the trade is confident about selling the country.”
Harrex added that all agents should do the online training and become Aussie Specialists as the country attracts high-spending clients, which means good earning opportunities.
He said: “The DVD takes the training to another level and gives them more depth and understanding.”
