Tenerife supplement 2007

Tenerife has long been a favourite destination for UK holidaymakers – almost two million visited last year.

But there is a buzz about Tenerife at the moment, with luxury spas and new theme parks opening that rival not only the best in Spain, but the best in Europe as well.

Designer shops and cosmopolitan marinas and the last word in hotels are increasingly drawing new visitors to the island’s stylish south, while ecologically minded and active travellers come to discover the lush forests, small coastal towns and mountain villages of the north.

With more than 200 miles of coastline, from dramatic cliffs to small rocky coves and immaculate, long, sandy beaches, Tenerife is not just an ideal destination for families and sun-lovers, but for those seeking a thrill, whether that’s paragliding, deep-sea diving, whale-watching or teeing off from stunning golf courses any month of the year.

All this is just four hours’ flight from the UK, and, as the entire British travel industry will testify after choosing the island for this year’s ABTA Travel Convention, there has never been a better time to visit Tenerife.
