Cox and Kings launches New Zealand programme

Exclusive: Cox and Kings is launching a new programme in New Zealand next year as well as a series of incentives to strengthen bonds with the trade.

Marketing director Philip Hamilton-Grierson said the new launch has been pencilled in for February or March next year and will run until 2009.

He added: “The point about Cox and Kings is we travel to countries where customers need support and expert advice and because New Zealand is so far away people don’t want to waste time when they get there so we help them plan ahead.”

Hamilton-Grierson said there are no plans as yet to feature Australia. However, customers will be able to book the New Zealand programme as part of a multi-centre break with other destinations.

He added the operator is also planning to launch several incentive and marketing schemes for agents next year but remained tight-lipped about the details.

The operator has seen growth in all its featured destinations, in particular the Middle East where sales have doubled to date this year.

Hamilton-Grierson added India is also proving strong with sales growth of around 25% this autumn, despite hoteliers increasing their prices by up to 15%. The average tourist hotel in Delhi now costs around $300.
