Business travel agency to provide emergency guides

Ian Allan Travel will be the first travel management company to provide all its customers with emergency contact information from publisher Fisher’s Travel SOS.

The agency sends customers to more than 200 destinations worldwide and will now supply clients and staff with information on destinations, who to call and where to go if faced with an emergency.

Director of sales and account management Tracey Randell said: “In a changing world where dangers can come at any time and from unexpected sources the emphasis for safe travel is to travel prepared.”

Fisher’s Travel SOS guides contain local and national contact details for emergency services, missing persons, lost items, financial, transport, accommodation and legal issues.

The guides can be stored online or in a paper format. Guides are personalised for the customer and can include personal data, medical information, and next of kin contact details.

Publisher Julian Fisher said: “Knowing only the emergency number is better than no number at all but would you call 999 if all you needed was a pharmacy to sooth a migraine? Resolving a minor problem may not seem a task until it turns into a crisis.”
