Italian cruiseline MSC Cruises is doubling its sales team in the UK and Ireland next year after seeing its agent partners increase from more than 400 to 1000 this year.
The cruise line’s managing director Claudia Baino said the company is increasing trade activity following the introduction of two new ships.
She said: “This year has been quite a ‘housework’ year but with the extra capacity we are increasing our presence. We are definitely happy with our results so far with the number of agents that want to work with us so we need to provide them with support.”
The operator has also upgraded its agent website, giving the trade the opportunity to book individuals and groups online.
The new-look site, msconline.com, was launched at World Travel Market and it aims to offer travel agents an easier to use format, with a calendar of departures and sailings available on the site.
The site also has news bulletins, company updates and press releases, as well as a tool to personalise newletters that can be sent on to clients.
Agents can also request ship visits, order brochures, DVDs and other collateral material online at www.msconline.com.
