n business travel world ceases trading



Business Travel World of Luton has ceased trading. The firm traded as The Holiday Bureau to sell scheduled flights and packages to Spain, Portugal and the Canaries; traded as Classic Days to sell day trips; and traded as Budget Travel to sell flight-only tickets for operators. Business Travel World’s bond of £37,000 has been called in by the Civil Aviation Authority. Meanwhile, ABTAtravel agent Castlereagh Travel has ceased trading.



n go summer 2000 schedule on sale



Go has put its summer 2000 schedule on sale – the first low-cost carrier to do so. As an incentive to early bookers, passengers buying tickets on-line at go-fly.com receive a £2 discount. Flights are to Alicante, Barcelona, Bilbao, Bologna, Faro, Lisbon, Madrid, Malaga, Prague, Rome and Venice from Stansted.



n easyjet to hear outcome of go appeal



EasyJet expects to hear this week if its objection to Go launching Stansted flights to Switzerland next month has been successful. The Luton-based carrier claims British Airways is subsidising Go to the detriment of other airlines on the routes to Geneva and Zurich. A spokesman for Go said the complaint was a delaying tactic.



n first choice reduces attendance at abta



First Choice has scaled down its presence at the ABTA Convention in Cairns following its senior management restructure (Travel Weekly, November 8). The operator said it was forced to withdraw all but one of its five-strong delegation as the trip will be too time consuming. Only group tour operating managing director Dermot Blastland will travel to Cairns. He is due to take part in the Hot Topic debate at the conference.
