Holiday Brokers has revealed plans for a customised mapping service on its trade website after revamping online search facilities for agents.
The dynamic packaging company is to launch “relevant” maps on its site within the next few months. The maps will show specific distances of hotels from beaches, restaurants, bars and other facilities.
Sales director Brian Young said the company planned to launch a bespoke map service with a mapping specialist rather than offering Google Maps.
“The most important thing for customers is to show how close their hotels are to the beach and shops, and that’s more important than giving agents flashy technology,” he added.
The company has also improved search facilities on its site and slashed transfer prices to make its product more competitive.
Specialist search pages have been created for ski, city and ‘home from home’ products so that agents can avoid searching through holidays not relevant to their customers. All offers, product and advice relevant to the product will now be in one specific area.
Agents can also now search for properties based on whether they have a kids club, beach front location, or specific facilities such as spas.
Meanwhile, transfer prices have been reduced to keep in line with the market. “It’s a very competitive sector,” he said.
