Prestige Holidays targets new agents

Prestige Holidays is targeting new agents in the south and south west with the appointment of a new business developmentmanager.

Louise Stanbury, who was previously at Serenity Holidays and Meon Villa Holidays, is to visit agents in the catchments of Exeter, Bristol and Cardiff airports.

The operator started a structured agency support plan in January, providing bespoke training on particular destinations. In January the focus was on the new Italy programme while this month Tenerife will be promoted.

Head of sales John Joinson said: “We want to build up relationships with agents in these areas. We sit down with them and find out what they want from us.”

Meanwhile, the operator has launched an Isles of Scilly brochure for the first time, including five hotels and private transfers. The launch coincides with the BBC2 programme Island Parish about life on Scilly.

“We have benefited from the TV programme. It has stirred up a lot of interest in the Isles and sales are doing very well,” said Joinson.

Prestige launched a new website recently with a new look and more detailed destination and event content. A dedicated agent section is planned for March.

“We still expect agents to contact the reservations team as they have specialist knowledge, but the site can be used for simple and repeat bookings.”
