Encore calls for more coach facilities in London

Theatre ticket specialist Encore Advance has called on Transport for London to boost the capital’s tourism by increasing coach parking facilities at affordable prices.

It is launching a scheme at the British Travel Trade Fair, pledging to pay the parking costs of any coach operator booking one of its dinner and show packages.

Encore Advance believes the lack of coach parking spaces, and the costs involved, are stifling the city’s theatre business and expects the new incentive to cost it £30,000 in the coming year.

Encore Advance managing director John Wales said: “Coach groups coming to see West End shows are arriving when everyone else is leaving London. The spaces are there and the availability of more parking would encourage tourism to the capital.”
