Amadeus Cruise sees record year

Amadeus Cruise experienced a 33% increase in bookings in 2007 and is now providing product from 16 cruise providers.

The GDS company signed up or renewed cruise booking arrangements for more than 60 travel companies in 2007, including Barrhead Travel in Glasgow and cruise provider Voyana.

In the pipeline for this year is Amadeus e-Cruise Platform, which provides an agent booking engine, a range of reporting tools and a consumer booking engine. Customers can compare up to ten sailings on one screen and view pictures, 3D views of cabins and interactive deck plans.

Director of marketing Elaine Seeto said: “Our cruise solutions ensure agents can take advantage of the booming cruise holiday market. With exciting new ship launches such as P&O’s Ventura and Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas, we expect 2008 to be another bumper year.”
