Virgin boss Richard Branson has challenged environmental groups to support his green initiatives or come up with better ideas.
“Some individuals have said biofuel is not sustainable,” he said. “I say, what is the alternative?”
Virgin Atlantic completed a test flight using a biofuel last week and Branson said: “Unless we experiment we are going to carry on flying dirty aircraft.
“We have to try, and I believe we will see a breakthrough. If environmental organisations have a better idea, I would like to hear it.
“I challenge the greens to come up with something.”
