Triton directors are expected to unveil changes to the way commercial deals are structured and plans on the consortium’s future membership at its conference next month.
Directors Colin Heal, Andrew Botterill and John McEwan will take to the stage at the start and end of the conference, which has attracted about 500 delegates.
Heal, also chairman, would not be drawn on specific changes, but confirmed there would be some changes to the structure of Triton.
McEwan added: “There will be discussions on Triton’s future. There is some work going on in terms of reshaping Triton. Expansion could be a subject that is discussed.”
Currently the consortium negotiates central deals with operators for Worldchoice, Global and Advantage members. It is not known if the new structure would ditch centrally negotiated commercial deals with suppliers.
Top bosses from the Travel Trust Association are due to attend the conference, although no decision has yet been made on it will join Triton once its merger has been completed with Worldchoice.
The conference will take place from April 18-20 in Palma, Majorca.
After a directors’ update, there will be talks by consultant Andrew Dickson and Stella Travel Services Worldwide chief executive Keith Stanley, plus workshops and speed dating sessions.
Sunday’s trade panel session will include speakers Lee Marshall of Gold Medal; Manuel Mascarenhas of Kuoni; Matt Cheevers of Teletext Holidays; Trudy Redfern of Silversea Cruises; and Helen Burgess of Triton Travel Ltd and Worldchoice.
