South American carrier Latam Airlines reported an overall drop in passenger carryings in January.

Number fell year-on-year by 2% to 6 million, mainly due to a 7.5% slump in domestic carryings in Brazil to 2.6 million.

Carryings across other parts of South America slid by 1.1% to under 2 million while international numbers grew by 8.3% to almost 1.5 million.

The overall passenger load factor improved by 0.5 percentage points to 86.1%.
