BVI TO LAUNCH FIRST SMALL INNS BROCHURE


The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board is launching its first dedicated small inns programme at this year’s World Travel Market. The brochure is operated by specialist tour operator the BVI Club and includes a selection of packaged holidays at more than 20 of the BVI’s smaller inns and cottages.


MILLENNIUM PACKAGES IN THE BAHAMAS


Island Outpost’s two hotels in the Bahamas, Pink Sands and Compass Point, are offering special millennium packages. The seven-night Compass Point package includes tickets to Nassau’s annual New Year carnival, a cocktail party and five-course millennium dinner with music and dancing. The10-night Pink Sands package is aimed at people who want a more low-key celebration and includes breakfast, dinner and champagne every day, and a seven-course millennium dinner on New Year’s Eve. Package prices range start at £5,875.


ACCOR TO EXPAND RESORTS WORLDWIDE


Accor Leisure and Tourism, which operates resorts worldwide under brands such as Novotel, Ibis, Mercure and Coralia, is planning to expand its portfolio in Cuba. By the millennium, the group will have seven hotels on the island and two hotel/clubs comprising approximately 2,000 rooms in total.


ALMOND BEACH CLUB ADDS NEW SPA FACILITIES


The Almond Beach Club on Barbados has added a new spa and health suite – the first on the island – available to guests of the all-inclusive property at extra cost. Facilities include two saunas, a fitness suite and treatments such as hydrotherapy, aromatherapy massage and cosmetic and beauty treatments.
