Royal Caribbean International has announced its short list of candidates for the godmother of Independence of the Seas.
The final four are Barbara Natasegara from Cardiff, Elizabeth Hill from Chesterfield in Derbyshire, Madeleine Henry from Southampton and Sue Stones from Bakewell in Derbyshire.
The four ladies have been nominated by their families and local community for their work with children and young people, following the Search for a Godmother campaign.
They will now travel to Turku in Finland where they will be given a VIP sneak preview of the ship as it undergoes the final stages of completion. They will then return to Royal Caribbean’s offices in Addlestone, Surrey, where they will be interviewed by a judging panel which includes Travel Weekly columnist Maureen Hill, Sir Steve Redgrave and senior executives from Royal Caribbean.
The winner will be revealed on Thursday.
