Costa Rica
It’s been almost a year since the inaugural flight from Gatwick to Costa Rica.
The 11-hour and 20 minute flight runs twice a week in the summer months and three times a week in winter.
With its expansive national parks and abundant wildlife, your customers have a wealth of tropical forests, mountain areas, rivers, lakes and volcanoes to explore. For those looking for a relaxing break there are plentiful secluded white sand beaches. Adrenaline junkies can enjoy activities such as rafting, fishing, scuba diving, wind surfing, surfing, cycling, and golf.
Operated by a Boeing 777, guests fly direct to San Jose’s Santamaria International Airport.
Customers have the choice of Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller with each offering stylish surroundings, on-demand inflight entertainment, complimentary dining, a full bar service and a generous baggage allowance.
Flights in the summer depart in the morning on Wednesdays and Saturdays and winter flights depart in the morning on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Peru
Customers keen to delve into the vast history of Peru can now travel to the destination on a direct British Airways flight from Gatwick.
The flight to capital Lima’s Jorge Chavez International Airport, which launched in May 2016, departs twice a week in the winter and three times a week in the summer months.
Lima is an excellent starting point for a Peruvian adventure. History fans will be in good company, as the country is famous for its pre-Columbian archaeology which originated when it was the hub of the Incan empire, especially the Unesco World Heritage sites of Machu Picchu, Chan Chan and Chavín de Huántar.
Peru is also a paradise for ecological tourism, with national parks, lakes, mountains and nature reserves, as well as its location in the Amazon basin, offering a fascinating insight into its diverse wildlife. Trekking is a popular way to explore local areas, with sports such as rafting, kayaking, biking and horse riding also available for the more daring.
British Airways’ summer services will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays; winter services will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays. The average flight time is 12 hours 25 minutes.
