The Thomas Cook Group has appointed Angus Porter as its new group strategy director.
Porter will take up the position on June 2 and has immediately stood down from his role as a non executive director for Thomas Cook.
He will be responsible for driving the groups’s aim of becoming a leading provider in both the independent travel and travel-related financial services markets. He will also help drive growth and value through mergers and acquisitions.
Porter also assumes strategic responsibility for the Thomas Cook brand and will oversee the group’s e-commerce programme.
Thomas Cook chief executive Manny Fontenla-Novoa said: “I am delighted that Angus has accepted the group strategy director role, one that is vital for the future development of our group.
“Angus is a great strategist and I know that he will be a valuable addition to the group’s leadership team.”
