Uniworld releases itineraries for new brand aimed at millennials

Uniworld’s new river cruise brand aimed at younger travellers has released details of its four itineraries which feature more social and immersive excursions.

The boutique river cruise line unveiled U by Uniworld in December and bookings for 2018 sailings are due to go on sale later this month.

Its revamped ship River Baroness will sail a seven-night roundtrip itinerary to Paris while River Ambassador will sail three itineraries between Amsterdam and Budapest.

Aimed at holidaymakers aged 18 to 40, the sailings run from Saturday to Saturday to attract younger professional travellers and include several overnight stays and later mornings and nights in port to allow more experiences of European night-life.

The ships will offer single, double and triple occupancy with a pairing option available for solo travellers looking to avoid paying the double rate.

The refurbished ships will be given a more contemporary and relaxed look with hammocks, bean bags and large sunbeds on deck, with international DJs expected to perform on board too.

U by Uniworld will offer co-ordinated excursions as well as free transfers to city centres for guests to explore by themselves.

The group activity excursions include kayaking along the Seine in Paris, biking through a coal mine in Cologne and visiting a brewery in an old church in Amsterdam.

Other events include attending a music festival, iconic historical sites and street art tours.

Customers will also be able to take part in cooking classes and accompany the chefs to shop for ingredients at local markets.
