Air worker injured after de-icing truck hits aircraft

One person was injured when a de-icing truck collided with an Alaska Airlines aircraft during a snow storm at Boston’s Logan international airport on Friday night.

A worker in the truck’s basket was taken to hospital after the truck tipped over. The truck struck the Boeing 737 at around 7pm local time as it was preparing for a flight to San Diego.

The aircraft had pushed back from the gate for departure and was being de-iced when the truck came into contact with the left wing of the aircraft, according to local reports.

No-one on the 737 was injured. Passengers were delayed overnight and given hotel and meal vouchers.
