Cruise agent calls for support from cruiselines

Travel Weekly Cruise ClubA cruise travel agency director is calling on cruiselines to support the company’s first consumer fair.

Travel Weekly Cruise Club member Sandra Lines, director of Knowle Travel, is organising a cruise fayre at the Holiday Inn in Solihull on June 1 between 11am and 3pm.

So far the agency has six cruiselines attending – but it is looking for a further three.

Lines said: “We are looking for upmarket and niche cruiselines in particular but we need to hear from companies as soon as possible. Our clients tend to be more mature and we’re hoping for around 100 people on the day.”

Already signed up to showcase their product are Complete Cruise Solution, Royal Carribbean International and Celebrity Cruises, Regent Seven Seas, Louis Cruises and Hurtigruten.

Cruiselines will have an opportunity to give separate talks on their products to consumers during the day. Special offers such as on-board credit will be offered to consumers’ who book.

Agency staff will be on hand to help clients and will take all names and contact details of those attending and chase up potential bookings after the show.

Cruiselines who are interested in taking part in the cruise fair should email the agency on smlines@hotmail.co.uk.

Meanwhile, any cruiselines that would like to invite Travel Weekly Cruise Club members on educationals or offer them training opportunities should contact juliet.dennis@rbi.co.uk. The club’s latest six members were announced last week. Travel Weekly will chart their progress over the next year in the magazine and online.
