Atlantis bids for longer stays from UK visitors to Bahamas

Atlantis hotel in Paradise Island, Bahamas is encouraging UK holidaymakers to stay longer than one or two nights at its 2,300-room resort.

The family resort – which includes the Beach Tower, Coral Towers and Royal Towers properties – is well known for hosting celebrities such as Michael Jackson in its most expensive two-bedroom suite.

The facilities include an enclosed water slide through a shark-infested lagoon, an underground aquarium and the opportunity to swim with dolphins.

National sales manager Karen Cargill said: “We would like our UK guests to stay for longer to experience Atlantis – most just book one or two nights.”

The hotel plans to install plasma screens in its Beach Tower and Corals Towers rooms by the end of the year.

Neighbouring hotels such as Comfort Suites Resort allow guests to use Atlantis’s facilities.

Bahamas Flavour offers a lead-in price of £820 per person for seven nights including breakfast at Comfort Suites, with direct flights from the UK.

Meanwhile, the Sheraton Beach Cable Resort in Nassau has undergone a complete refurbishment since it reopened under the Sheraton brand a year ago.

The hotel previously operated  under the Radisson brand. It has undergone a $90 million refurbishment.
