Mundi Color Holidays will cease to trade in the UK tomorrow after 35 years in the market.
Reservations manager Frank Valle has written to travel agents asking them to remove the Spanish and Portuguese specialist operator’s brochures. All existing bookings will be honoured by the operator.
He added: “The English market has been very difficult for the last year or so.”
Valle said the Spanish company will retain a presence in the UK, acting as an inbound tour operator for the Spanish market.
The company was licensed with the Civil Aviation Authority to carry 4,575 customers for the year ending September 2008.
The move comes after general manager Juan Iraola’s announcement that he is quitting the company this month to set up his own destination marketing organisation J I Travel Consulting.
