High fuel price will impact travel plans, says TripAdvisor

The high price of fuel will have an impact on British holidaymakers’ travel plans, a TripAdvisor study has revealed.

TripAdvisor spoke to 4,000 people worldwide about their future travel plans.

A total of 21% of British travellers said the high price of fuel will affect their travel plans this summer.

However, the fall in the value of the pound has had more impact, with 30% of Brits saying it will affect their summer holiday plans. A total of 38% said they would travel to a destination that has a more favourable exchange rate and 26% will stay in cheaper accommodation.

Seaside holidays continue to be the most popular worldwide, with 61% of travellers intending to visit a beach destination this summer. Cities and lakes and mountains were the second and third most popular.
