BRITISH Airways is to hold a series of four service-fee seminars for agents next month.
The talks coincide with BA dropping its Interim Bonus Agreement at the end of this month to leave agents on a basic 7% commission.
Topics to be covered in the seminars include the service-fee programmes agents can implement; different structures for leisure and business agents; marketing; and the use of new technology. From January 1 next year, BA is proposing agents rely on service fees as their primary income.
Nolan Burris, a Canadian travel expert with 20 years’ trade experience, will run the seminars. Two people per agency can attend the events, allocation is on a first come, first served basis.
Venues and dates are: Renaissance Hotel, Heathrow, April 11; Hilton Hotel, St Ermins, London, April 12; Thistle Hotel, Portland Street, Manchester, April 13; and Thistle Hotel, Glasgow City, April 14.
