Holland America Line is planning a series of roadshows to help agents sell the brand more effectively for the second year running.
HAL held its first ‘how to’ sell seminars last year with around 80 agents at each. They included a panel session.
Director of sales and marketing Lynn Narraway said: “HAL is clearly a small brand in the UK. Some agents say they struggle to sell the small brands so our message is to focus on the destination rather than the ship. It’s how you sell it – you need to explain it as a holiday rather than a cruise.”
The roadshows are likely to run nationwide in November and December.
HAL’s latest ship Eurodam, the biggest built by the company carrying around 2,104 passengers, launches next week.
Meanwhile, sister brand Carnival’s new ship Carnival Splendor will launch out of Dover on July 10. It will be the largest passenger ship out of the port. Former Hear’Say singer Myleene Klass will be godmother.
