Six out of ten couples fight on holiday, says survey

Only 40% of British couples spend their holiday in peace and harmony, a survey by travel site trivago.co.uk has revealed.

A total of 17% said fights are caused by jealously, as their partner flirts shamelessly with other travellers. Some 16% squabble about everyday issues such as the weather or food, while 15% argue about who’s in charge of what on holiday.

The Spanish and French are most likely to react badly to their partner’s flirting, while Germans tend to flight about their travel plans. The country with the most harmonious holiday couples is Sweden, with 62% relaxing with any conflicts.

Trivago.co.uk questioned more than 5,000 holidaymakers for the survey.
