Princess Cruises TV show to return for third series on two ships

Princess Cruises’ television documentary The Cruise is to return in 2018 with three new series.

The ITV documentary will return for a third year and travel to three different destinations.

It will follow the Royal Princess in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean plus another mini-series on Star Princess in Alaska.

Tony Roberts, Princess Cruises’ vice president UK and Europe, said: “After the success and popularity of the first and second series of The Cruise we are thrilled to have ITV back on board.

“We take more people to Alaska every year than any other cruise and we also have incredible cruises in the Caribbean so it was the right next destination to showcase on the show.

“These are the cruises we want people to be talking about and for our agent partners to talk about with their customers.

“This is also a great way to get cruise into the minds of people in their homes.

“For the first series we had 3.5 million viewers, so with just less that two million cruise passengers in the UK there are another almost 1.5 million potential new cruise customers out there.”

The third season of The Cruise will include six episodes in the Mediterranean, three special episodes in Alaska and another three special episodes in the Caribbean. Roberts said the first of the three series was likely to air at the beginning of 2018.

The series will be filmed over the next few months on 3560-guest Royal Princess and 2,600-gest Star Princess.

The documentary, made by Wild Pictures first aired in 2015 and follows the lives of crew and passengers on board the ships.
