Lars Olsson takes over as PSA chairman

Stena Line commercial manager Lars Olsson has become chairman of the Passenger Shipping Association.

Olsson will lead the PSA, which is responsible for the promotion of travel by sea, for a two year term. He takes over from Cunard president and managing director Carol Marlow.

The announcement was made at the PSA’s 50th anniversary AGM and lunch on Friday.

The association now has 37 cruise and 17 ferry members.

PSA director William Gibbons said: “I would like to put on record our great appreciation of the work undertaken by Carol in last two years and welcome Lars to his new position. For the past four years, Lars has been chair of the PSA ferry section and during this time he has made substantial contribution to the development of this sector.”

Simon Johnson, of P&O Ferries, will take over from Olsson as the PSA’s ferry section chairman.
