Susan Hooper to leave Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line EMEA managing director Susan Hooper is to step down from her role in September this year.

Hooper has been with the cruiseline for four years and is leaving on September 1, 2008, to pursue new professional opportunities and for family reasons.

Michael Bayley, senior vice president international, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, said: “In the four years Susan has driven the EMEA management teams of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line brands, she has achieved the fastest growth in the history of the business. She leaves behind a legacy of outstanding management and performance that sets very high standards for our organisation as we move forward.”

The company’s brands include Royal Caribbean International, Pullmantur, Azamara Cruises and CDF Croisieres de France and it has a combined total of 38 ships in service and seven under construction, including Oasis of the Seas, which will be the largest cruiseship in the world when it launches in 2009.

No replacement has been announced for Hopper.
