Thomson Cruises welcomes millionth customer

The millionth passenger on Thomson Cruises will board the Thomson Celebration today at the Port of Tyne, near Newcastle.

James Hopper will travel with his wife Catherine from High Spen in Tyne and Wear taking the Fire and Ice 12 night cruise which visits the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Norway.

The couple will be given the red carpet treatment being greeted with flowers and champagne when they board and they will continue to be treated like the VIP’s for the duration of the cruise.

Captain Roy Dearman will present the couple with a complimentary cruise of their choice from the Thomson Cruises range to be taken next year.

The Hoppers are regular customers of Thomson Cruises taking 38 cruises with eight cruises this year alone.

David Selby, director of cruising for Thomson, said: “This is a pivotal point in Thomson Cruises’ history and shows the continuing popularity of our cruises and the number of customers, both new and returning, that are booking with us.

“We are thrilled for the Hoppers and are sure they will enjoy all the special attention they receive for being the millionth and ‘millionth + one’ passengers to sail with us.”
