Tui extends Thomson Spirit charter for summer 2018

Tui has extended a charter of mid-size ship Thomson Spirit by a year to cover the 2018 summer season.

The vessel has been chartered to the operator by Celestyal Cruises since May 2003.

The 1,254-passenger ship, originally built for Holland America Line in 1983, will operate as a Thomson Cruises vessel until October 2018.

All services will be provided by Celestyal Cruises through its wholly-owned ship management subsidiary, Optimum Ship Management Services.

Celestyal Cruises chief executive, Kyriakos Anastassiadis, said: “The extension of the Thomson Spirit charter is yet another endorsement of the quality of services and a testament to the trust Tui Travel and other global tourism leaders have in Celestyal Cruises.

“We’re pleased that the Spirit is so popular with passengers in the UK market.

“Thomson Cruises has been a trusted, valued partner for over two decades, and we look forward to extending our relationship further.”
