MSC Cruises introduces new destination expert advice service

A free new Port Info assistance service being introduced by MSC Cruises will also allow passengers to explore destinations with expert advice and information.

The service debuted on board new ship MSC Meraviglia, with plans to extend it onto all ships in the fleet.

Where possible, ship port times will be adjusted to allow enough time for passengers to fully experience events and get the very most out of their stay, according to the line.

The initiative has been developed through direct links with local authorities and tourism boards, giving passengers the most accurate and up-to-date information, as well as local insights and ‘must-see’ attractions.

Port Info staff will help book local transportation such as train tickets, taxis or car hire or to create private tours.

Crew members have been personally trained by local experts so they can offer tailored information and advice from personal experience.

The line has also added 19 Mediterranean shore excursions following the launch of MSC Meraviglia.

Five tours have been designed specifically for passengers travelling on the ship. The excursions have been especially developed for families and food lovers.

MSC Cruises’ head of global port development and shore side activities, Gianluca Suprani, said: “Being able to discover multiple destinations without having to repack a suitcase is the main reason that a cruising holiday is so attractive to guests and we are delighted to be further enhancing exploration options for guests once they step ashore.

“Not only are we introducing new and exclusive shore excursions, but our new Port Info service is something truly ground-breaking, not offered as a complimentary service by any other cruise line.”
